Congratulations Dr. Evelyn Felluca for achieving the title of Master Surgeon in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (MSMIG) by The Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). Dr. Felluca achieved this coveted accreditation through her impressive use of the da Vinci Robot. She started using this advanced technology in laparoscopic gynecology at Reston Hospital in 2009, when the hospital first acquired the da Vinci Robot. By 2013, Dr Felluca had performed more than 300 cases and presented them to the Society of Laparoscopic Surgery (SLS). Since then, she has trained other physicians, given multiple educational lectures, and promoted the proficient, efficient and safe use of this new technology. In an effort to continually improve the care given to women, Dr. Felluca spearheaded the Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) designation at Reston Hospital. In addition, Dr. Felluca was chosen to be the first surgeon to perform da Vinci Single Site procedures in Northern Virginia. In doing so, she joined an elite few nationwide who provide virtually scarless surgery, using only one incision.
